A meeting of President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to the Republic of Moldova Ulrike Knotz was held at the initiative of the Embassy of Germany. They discussed issues of promoting cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Germany in various fields. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski.

During the dialogue the President noted the active cooperation between the German Embassy and the public authorities of the PMR. “Direct cooperation makes it possible to generate objective information about the situation in Pridnestrovie. It is important and valuable for us. The interaction is carried out in the social sphere. This, for example, is the implementation of the project on reconstruction of water supply and disposal systems in Dubossary District”, - said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

At the meeting the President expressed the Pridnestrovian side’s concern about unilateral actions which the Republic of Moldova continues to undertake. This includes the efforts to impede the normal operation of Pridnestrovian enterprises, criminal prosecution of Pridnestrovian officials on political grounds, as well as putting the persecuted on the international wanted list, arresting them abroad. “Such approaches are not conducive to building confidence and dialogue and lead to an impasse in the negotiations”, - said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

In addition, attention was paid to issues related to international trade. The prospects of saving the European market for Pridnestrovie producers in the next year were discussed. The meeting indicated the need for finding such solutions which will not allow to worsen the economy of Pridnestrovie, hence the situation of people who live here.

Finally, the sides emphasized the constructiveness and particularity of the meeting.
