PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, first deputy Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Law and State Building Mikhail Emelianov. The deputy Chairman of Supreme Council of the PMR Galina Antyufeeva also took part at the meeting.
During the conversation, Vitaly Ignatiev informed the Russian MP in detail about the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, stressing the whole range of acute issues existing in the relations of the parties at the current stage. In this context he focused on the problem of establishing joint customs and border control of Moldova and Ukraine on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian state border. The Pridnestrovian side noted its principled position on the destructive nature of this measure, which if implemented could provoke a significant deterioration of the situation in the political, economic and social-humanitarian spheres, and also lead to the destabilization of the regional situation as a whole.
During the meeting the parties also discussed prospects for further Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.
