Vadim Krasnoselsky Met with US Ambassador

12/02/19

No movement within the negotiation process was recorded since the last visit of the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova. But, it does not belong to the political situation in Moldova, where the government has recently changed again, stated Vadim Krasnoselsky and Derek Hogan during their working dialogue today.

The United States of America are observers in the 5+2 negotiation process. It is important for Pridnestrovie to know the opinion of the USA representatives about the negotiation agenda and be able to express its own position, Vadim Krasnoselsky underlined. He pointed out a continuous decrease of the negotiation activity proving this fact with following data: the political representatives met 23 times in 2018, and only two times during this year, the expert (working) groups met 85 times last year, and only 20 times this year.

Along with that, the Head of the Pridnestrovian State emphasized the practical importance of the activity by experts and political representatives which precedes decision making. Vadim Krasnoselsky connected the negotiation intermission and incomplete discussions in Bavaria and Bratislava to the electoral waves in Moldova, and stressed out that Pridnestrovie is committed to stability and further dialogue.

The American diplomat noted the will to give a new impetus to the negotiation process.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the whole range of negotiation agenda. They also touched upon bilateral cooperation in different directions including the cultural and humanitarian interaction. The participants to the meeting agreed to continue the active collaboration.
