Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the meeting between the Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Schornikov with the Apostolic Nuncio to Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the Archbishop Francisco-Javier Lozano. During the meeting, Igor Schornikov stressed that Pridnestrovie is a secular state, freedom of conscience and religion is enshrined in law. "Historically, Pridnestrovie is at the junction of different civilizations and cultures, including the Orthodox and Catholic ones. Cultural, linguistic and religious diversity serves the consolidation of the Pridnestrovian society all the years of the republic existence, "- said the representative of the PMR\'s MFA.
The Apostolic Nuncio was pleased to hear that in 2012 the State Prize "The Man of the Year" in the category of "Mercy" got the abbot of the parish of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church “Holy Trinity “in Tiraspol Piotr Kushman.
At the end of the meeting the sides expressed hope for the development of cooperation, particularly in the social and humanitarian sphere.
