Today, a working interdepartmental meeting on preparation of the report to the President of Pridnestrovie on the implementation of Action plan on the execution of the recommendations proposed by UN Senior Expert for Human Rights in Pridnestrovie Thomas Hammarberg was held in the PMR's MFA.We remind that in February 2013 T. Hammarberg presented the “Report on human rights in Pridnestrovie”, prepared following some visits to the republic where he described the current situation and gave recommendations relating to improve the situation in respect of human rights. In November of the same year an “Action plan on implementation of the recommendations proposed by T. Hammarberg” was approved by the Decree of the President of the PMR. The work directions contained in the Plan cover a wide range of issues on development of the health sector, penal system, support of socially protected groups and improvement of the custody and guardianship system. Active work is already under way on many of these issues both by own forces, and in cooperation with international organizations.At the event the participants heard information on current outcomes of the performed work on the implementation of the recommendations of the UN expert. Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Igor Shornikov, particularly, noted that currently such international organizations as the Council of Europe, the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Children\'s Fund, the World Health Organization, and International Organization for Migration assist Pridnestrovie in the implementation of the recommendations proposed by T. Hammarberg. According to him, the activity of the ANO “Eurasian integration” fully meshes with the Plan of Action which provides the building of modern social infrastructure facilities.At the meeting Igor Shornikov stressed the high importance of the consistent implementation of the recommendation of T. Hammarberg in the development of the Pridnestrovian state.“Systematic and successful work in this direction is not only an important contribution to the improvement of our social system, but also to the strengthening of the state image as a responsible partner and a capable player on the international arena,” – noted the diplomat.The information heard at the meeting will provide the basis of the final report which will be presented to the Head of the State. We remind that the general control over the execution of the Action Plan on the implementation of the recommendations proposed by UN Senior Expert for Human Rights in Pridnestrovie was delegated to the Foreign Ministry of the PMR in accordance with the presidential decree.
