As part of the dialogue held by Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Dmitry Palamarchuk with UNICEF Deputy Representative in Moldova Margarita Tileva the sides discussed topical issues of social protection of children without parental custody. Taking part in the meeting was also First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the PMR Oleg Fedotov.
Working consultations were organized as a follow-up to the issues discussed by Head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry V.V. Ignatiev and UNICEF Representative in Moldova N. Mangasaryan on February 25, 2016.
The sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening measures aimed at maintaining and strengthening the appropriate level of social protection of this category of citizens, as well as in preventing the separation of children from their biological parents. Particular attention was paid to the elaboration of current initiatives to ensure the rights of children, to strengthen the capacity of custody and guardianship authorities of Pridnestrovie, to develop social infrastructure.
The Pridnestrovian side expressed gratitude for the significant support provided by UN agencies in various social and humanitarian fields.
The two sides confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
