- Citizens of the Republic of Moldova treat the peacekeeping operation of the Russian Federation on the Dniester rather respectfully. It is the peacekeeping participation of Russia that stopped fratricidal war. Yes, Kishinev has definite forces which apprehend peacekeeping operation as negative factor. Our people like to say: “we live in democratic society; and each has the right to have particular opinion.” But very often, when this opinion is voiced by official politicians, it causes tremendous damage. It breaks the society into different pieces. There is no unity that is necessary for us in order to solve vital problems, firstly – economical ones.
We must remember, that Russian troops are on the territory of Moldavia not by chance. In addition, today there are huge storages of weapons on the territory of Pridnestrovie. Many arms and ammunitions expired long time ago. Somebody must take this responsibility and provide security.
One can not change the format of peacekeeping operation now. There is very good proverb: next wife is worse than the previous one. We do not know, who will come up to take the place of Russian peacekeepers. There was a time, when Ukraine was proposed to participate in peacekeeping operation. Today 10 Ukrainian representatives participate in this peacekeeping operation. It is very expensive operation. Ukraine should have thought (here the opinion on the possibility of change of peacekeeping operation is also voiced) if it was well worth to take such responsibility in security zone today, when Ukraine faces hard times?
Besides, today the situation in Romania is uneasy, the situation in the Republic of Moldova is alarming; today we do not know what results the elections of deputies in Ukraine will cause. We see what is going on. The entire region is exited. This shows, that it is this part of Europe that may face the events we witness in Syria, in the Middle East, in Northern Africa. After the end of establishment of new order in the East somebody will want to establish new order in Europe.
