Today, on the platform of Pridnestrovian foreign office, the founding conference of the Council of Young Diplomats was held. Participating in the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski, Deputy Minister Vitaly Ignatiev, head of Department for CIS Countries, the PMR, the RSO, the NKR and Georgia of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Irakly Tujba, Deputy head of Consular Service of MFA of the Republic of Abkhazia Lasha Avidzba and young officers of the office and senior students who acquire corresponding profession at T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University.
Opening the meeting, Nina Shtanski familiarized those present with the contemporary agenda of the PMR's MFA. Minister noticed, that Head of State charged Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare principally new wording of Foreign Policy Concept of Pridnestrovie. “Foreign Policy Concept was adopted a year before the nationwide Referendum of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, a year before the beginning of a large-scale economical blockade. Since then geopolitical situation has changed, international situation, negotiation context have changed a great deal also. It goes without saying, that today we must make Pridnestrovian Foreign Policy Concept the real embodiment of our foreign policy course,” Minister said.
Groundworks on the given document must be ready until autumn 2012. According to Minister, active work is to be done within this context. Thus, extended meeting of Consultative Council under the President of the PMR with the participation of the PMR's MFA is planned on Friday, June 15, 2012; field-oriented Commission of the Supreme Soviet and Expert Council of the PRM's MFA will participate in the activities.
Nina Shtanski reported, that work on Foreign Policy Concept will be held simultaneously on different levels. In this connection Minister assigned young diplomats with a number of tasks, directed on productive forming of foreign policy of Pridnestrovie. Nina Shtanski marked the value of young rational thought in any progressive sphere and, in particular in the sphere of international relations of our State. “Creative proposals, even if they are very daring at first sight, always contain kernels,” Minister said. Head of the PMR's foreign office assured those present, that the groundworks submitted by young colleagues will be attentively studied and put into use.
Nina Shtanski also urged to practical interaction our Abkhazian colleagues, who told, that there is an intention to create the Council of Young Diplomats on the platform of Abkhazian foreign office. The perspective of cooperation on given level was also supported by all who were present at the conference.
Structural and organizational issues of the Council were discussed during the sitting. Three sections on basic directions of work – scientific-educational section, section of public communications, section of culture and sport, were adopted. The participants of the founding Conference adopted the Presidium of the Council, appointed the head and the participants of the sections and mapped out perspective plans of future work.
