Today schools and special educational institutions of Pridnestrovie were given certificates for receiving 40 new computers at a solemn ceremony in Tiraspol. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, Chairman of the Union of Russian Communities of Pridnestrovie Viorika Kokhtareva.
The project was implemented through the Government of Moscow at the request of Russian Communities of Pridnestrovie. Computer equipment will be delivered to 35 educational institutions, including correctional, located in the towns and villages of the republic. Earlier, with the support of the Government of the Russian capital the similar activity was implemented in 2013 in Pridnestrovie on giving interactive whiteboards and fax machines to schools.
During the event, acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev highly appreciated the fact that cooperation through the Russian Embassy in Moldova and Russian communities of Pridnestrovie is developing dynamically. He reminded that last year the Russian Federation provided substantial assistance to veterans and people with disabilities. According to the diplomat, “the objective is to overfulfill the plans set” in the current year.
“Pridnestrovian educational system is oriented towards Russian educational standards. We are grateful for the support of Russia in the implementation of the large-scale, unique project “Textbook”, and today's event is the development of strategic contribution of Russia, the Government of Moscow in the sphere of Pridnestrovian education,” - stressed Vitaly Ignatiev.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Farit Mukhametshin emphasized that “assistance in the field of education is one of the most important directions of cooperation between Russia and Pridnesttrovie”.
“We gave textbooks to Pridnestrovian schools in September last year. It was the help from the Russian Government. The textbooks themselves were printed in Tiraspol. Today, your students have the opportunity to study in accordance with Russian educational programmes. Now we are talking about the expansion of this programme - delivery of computers, creation of computer classerooms. The possibility to implement the project of full equipping schools of the republic with computer classrooms within a year and half or two years is under consideration,” - said the Ambassador speaking to journalists. He also added that the quota for training of graduates from Pridnestrovie in Russia for the current academic year will be known in a few days.
