Radojko Bogojevic is determined to work to maintain dynamics in the dialogue of the sides in the negotiation process

Today, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Radojko Bogojevic took questions from the journalists at the Tiraspol office of the OSCE Mission, following the results of his first visit to Pridnestrovie.

Serbian diplomat told that the main goal of his visit to Tiraspol is based on the aspiration to better understand positions of the sides in the negotiation process, to get first-hand information, and to familiarize himself with the life of Pridnestrovians. Special Representative of the OSCE CiO highly estimated efficiency of today's meetings with President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk and Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski. “It was a very eventful day today. I had an open and constructive dialogue with Mr. Shevchuk and Ms. Shtanski, which certainly has allowed me as a mediator in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova to better understand the current situation in relations between the sides. My mission is to assist. And within the powers of my mandate I will work to maintain dynamics of the dialogue of the sides. It is very important for the contacts between people from both banks of the Dniester to be maintained. We firmly adhere to this position”, Mr. Bogojevic told. “Dynamics of further discussion depends primarily on the parties themselves. I hope that the first round of negotiations will take place at the end of February”, Ambassador stated.

Commenting on the situation in connection with the several changes to the tax law adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova that are regarded by the Pridnestrovian side as discriminatory towards Pridnestrovian economy, Special Representative of the OSCE CiO stressed his high interest in solving this matter.

Also, Radojko Bogojevic informed representatives of mass media about intention to visit Moscow together with his Swedish colleagues on the forthcoming Friday to discuss further work within the 5+2 format with the Russian side.
