Today, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Ministry Nina Shtanski met with Head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Moldova Nune Mangasaryan. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Health of the PMR Tatyana Skrypnik and Chairperson of the Coordination Council for Technical Assistance Galina Sandutsa.
In the welcoming remarks, Nina Shtanski noted that Pridnestrovie appreciates the level of interaction and is very attentive to the initiatives and projects of the UNICEF. “Due to our cooperation the steps are taken to improve the situation in the field of perinatal care and immunization of the population - republican hospitals receive the necessary equipment, the qualification of medical professionals is enhanced. The MICS project - Cluster Survey household - is nearing completion,” – noted the diplomat.
Tatyana Skrypnik, in her turn, stressed that for the past 2014 a colossal joint work of the Minister of Health of the PMR and the UNICEF was done. “At this stage we come to the end of a large-scale project on the immunization of the population in terms of its importance in the organization of medical care, as well as a contribution to the state target program,” said the minister. She also expressed special thanks to the UNICEF experts, the result of their work will be the supply refrigeration equipment for storage and transportation of vaccines in Pridnestrovie.
“The main thing is that medical facilities be properly equipped, and services provided by medical professionals be of good quality,” - said Nune Mangasaryan. The UNICEF representative also informed about the plans of the organization for the current year, including initiatives on the provision of special assistance in the field of resuscitation of preterm infants, as well as in the field of child nutrition.
Galina Sandutsa assured the representatives of the UNICEF that all the necessary mechanisms are created in Pridnestrovie to date and organizational work was carried out to ensure the unobstructed import of equipment provided in the territory of Pridnestrovie.
The Pridnestrovian side expressed the gratitude for the assistance of the United Nations Children's Fund which is of particular relevance to Pridnestrovians under a complex socio-economic situation in the republic.
The sides stressed the importance of continuing bilateral contacts in that format.
