On June 12, 2012, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the first round of already traditional working consultations of foreign political offices of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia.
Involved in the discussions of a wide range of issues of interdepartmental interaction were Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in Pridnestrovie Alexander Vataman, Chief of Department of Abkhazian MFA for Russia, CIS-countries, the PMR, the RSO, the NKR and Georgia Irakly Tuzhba, Deputy Chief of Consular Service of Abkhazian MFA Lasha Avidzba, as well as heads of departments of Pridnestrovian MFA.
The diplomats summed up the results of implementation of the Cooperation Plan of Foreign Political Offices which had been in force during the previous year. Separate attention was given to issues of interstate visits coordination, exchange of information and analytical materials and regulatory and legal framework of republics, participation in joint conferences, workshops and roundtables, as well as organizational aspects of carrying out consular work.
The interlocutors particularly focused on interdepartmental cooperation in the context of arrangement of traineeship for young diplomats of Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia in Central Offices of Ministries, in Embassies and Representation Offices, as well as on topical matters of foreign economic activity of Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia.
In this connection, Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev marked that pursuant to new tasks set by the President of the PMR foreign political office of Pridnestrovie is elaborating mechanisms of gradual integration of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic into structures of the Eurasian Economic Community, Customs Union, and Common Economic Space.
The course towards Eurasian integration as a strategic vector of development of Pridnestrovie will be fixed in new version of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic elaboration of which has already been started by the diplomats.
The second part of interdiplomatic consultations took place in profiled structural units of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry, in particular, in Consular and Legal Department and Department for CIS Countries. Having shared experience and familiarized with specific nature of work of the Foreign Ministry of the PMR, Abkhazian diplomats marked a high level of professional qualifications of the Pridnestrovian colleagues.
It is planned that on June 13, 2012, the next Cooperation Plan of foreign political offices of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia for 2012-2013 will be approved.
