On the Meeting with the Council of Europe Delegation

Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic hosted the meeting of acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with Ulvi Akhundlu, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Moldova, and Anna Capello-Brillat, Head of Division of Co-operation Programmes, Directorate General of Democracy and Political Affairs of the Council of Europe.

In the course of the meeting, members of the Council of Europe provided leadership of the PMR's MFA with detailed information regarding projects which are planned to be implemented in collaboration with the Pridnestrovien side in 2012 and 2013. Among them are projects in the sphere of education, healthcare, protection of children's rights, mass media, drug abuse prevention, in the sphere of sport, tourism development and civil society.

Participants of the meeting highly estimated the level of cooperation that had established between the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic and the Council of Europe in recent years. In this connection, Ulvi Akhundlu expressed his hope for close and open cooperation in future and mentioned readiness for permanent coordination with the Pridnestrovien foreign political office on all issues related to work of the Council of Europe in the Republic.

In his turn, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev marked that Ministry of Foreign Affairs will render all possible assistance in realization of those projects of the Council of Europe in Pridnestrovie that will be received by relevant governmental structures and civil society institutions as topical and useful for the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic.
