On April 12, Tiraspol marks the 67th anniversary of the town's liberation from German-Romanian invaders. Today, the Pridnestrovien capital saw the flower-laying to the Memorial of Military Glory and solemn meeting dedicated to this historic date.
Participating in the event were President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, deputies of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic, Tiraspol's management, veterans of war, members of political parties and public organisations of Pridnestrovie, clergy, citizens of Tiraspol and guests of the city.
Among those who arrived to congratulate the citizens were, in particular, official delegations from Tiraspol's twin cities – Ternopol, Kherson, and Nikolaev. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR involved in solemn events were Deputies Foreign Minister Sergey Simonenko and Vitaliy Ignatiev.
