The MFA of the PMR Hosted a Meeting with Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland

Today, Deputy Prime Minister of PMR for international cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski received the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland headed by the Director of the Eastern Department of the MFA of the Republic of Poland Konrad Pawlik. The delegation consisted of the First Secretary of the Eastern Department of the MFA of the Republic of Poland Emilia Yasiuk, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Moldova Artur Michalski and Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Moldova Jerzy Stankiewicz. Taking part in the meeting was Deputy Foreign Minister of PMR Vitaly Ignatiev.

Polish diplomats were interested in economic cooperation of Pridnestrovie with the neighboring countries and the European Union in the context of the Association Agreement with the EU signed by Moldova on June 27, 2014.

Nina Shtanski explained that the new form of trade and economic cooperation between Moldova and the European Union does not consider, unfortunately, the interests of Pridnestrovie, as well as the factor of the unresolved Moldovan - Pridnestrovian conflict. "We hold consultations with our European colleagues. Despite the fact that while there are more questions than answers, we expect that the best ways to preserve the possibility of trading for Pridnestrovie with the Member States of the European Union will be saved," - said Nina Shtanski.

The Foreign Minister of PMR stressed that Poland is an important trading partner of the republic, holding the 4th place among the countries which Pridnestrovie exports its production to. "You know that Pridnestrovie is an industrial republic. We produce to export a lot. This production is of a high quality. Being under pressure of blockade restrictions, we still remain open for investments and we make maximum of efforts to keep the level of cooperation that we have gained in the international market", - stated Nina Shtanski.

The minister noted with satisfaction the level of development of the Pridnestrovian-Polish cooperation which, according to her, significantly extended including due to vigorous activity of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Moldova Artur Michalski.

Both sides, during the meeting, also touched upon some issues included in the agenda of negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Particularly, the special attention was paid to the problem of forced documenting of Pridnestrovian citizens by competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova, the freedom of movement and a number of problematic aspects in the field of economic cooperation of the parties.
