Nina Shtanski about dismantling of the cable car, “This issue is to be clarified in Brussels”

In the course of the briefing which took place following results of today's meeting between Political Representatives in the negotiation process from Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Nina Shtanski and Yevgeny Karpov took questions from journalists.

In particular, journalists asked about fulfillment of the Protocol Decision on dismantling of the off-the-ground aerial cableway (funicular) via Dniester River in the cities of Rybnitsa and Rezina which was signed by the sides at the Odessa meeting of the “Permanent Conference…” on May 24, 2013.

In accordance with the Protocol Decision, current Chairmanship addressed participants of the “Permanent Conference…” with the request to assist in the search of methodological, financial and technological resources needed for implementation of activities on dismantling of the funicular. However, to date, according to Nina Shtanski, the sides haven't received confirmation “what amount of funds participants of the negotiation process are ready to provide”. At the same time, she reminded that a group of specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation had examined the object and prepared their conclusion having provided a serious methodological support of the project. “I hope, issue of funding will also be clarified in Brussels.”

Political representatives assured journalists that this issue is now being tackled from organizational and technical angle and there are no political contradictions between the sides over dismantling of a cable car.
