The Foreign Ministry hosted the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Doris El Doueihy, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. The meeting was also attended by the ICRC representatives Deepali Gaur and Azat Doskozhaev.

Greeting the guests, Vitaly Ignatiev stressed that international cooperation in the social and humanitarian sphere is of great importance for Pridnestrovie, and in this context, he positively assessed the dynamics of bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova, Tadas Valionis, paid a working visit to Tiraspol. PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky received the diplomat. The Ambassador came together with his deputy Egle Blozneliene. Pridnestrovian side was also represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandr Stetsiuk held a meeting with the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross led by Karina Lehmann. ICRC representatives Tarlan Aghayev and Azat Doskozhaev also took part in the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Alexandr Stetsiuk praised the current level of bilateral relations between Pridnestrovie and the Red Cross and welcomed the humanitarian support which the ICRC provides to refugees who had arrived in the republic.

Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev held a meeting with Thomas Mayr-Harting, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. The meeting was also attended by Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling.

Vitaly Ignatiev opened the meeting by noting that international mediation, including that of the OSCE, is necessary for normalizing the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. He expressed the hope that joint efforts will help bring the negotiation process out of stagnation and “make certain steps to meet the interests of the people”.

The PMR foreign ministry hosted a discussion between Vitaly Ignatiev and American political scientist and expert John Kavulich.

John Kavulich is a political scientist, expert, President of US-Cuba Trade and Economic Council and Senior Research Editor of Issue Insight, an analytical portal dealing with international affairs. He has been studying the USSR and the post-Soviet space for more than 35 years.

During the working visit to Moscow, the Pridnestrovian delegation held a number of meetings in Russian state agencies with a view to enhancing bilateral, cross-departmental cooperation.

In particular, communication took place with the Ministry of Health leadership to tackle the broadening of the range and forms of cooperation, including the possibility of providing high-tech and other medical care to Pridnestrovian citizens in specialized federal institutions of Russia.

In the context of the ongoing investigation into the terrorist attacks on the PMR territory, the Pridnestrovian side has informed the international mediators and observers of the negotiation process about the car bomb intended for the OSCE delegation during the visit of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Bujar Osmani to Pridnestrovie on February 14.

On the instructions of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, in connection with the prevented cynical terrorist act against the Pridnestrovian leadership and civilians, official appeals have been sent to the Ukrainian Embassy, Secretary General and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, as well as mediators and observers in the negotiation process.

The letter to the Ukrainian side requested assistance in obtaining clarifications from relevant agencies of Ukraine.

At the Pridnestrovian side’s initiative, an on-line meeting of expert (working) groups on transport and road infrastructure development was held today.

The key issue on the agenda of the meeting was the functioning of the Vehicle Registration Offices in Tiraspol and Rybnitsa.

In this context, the Pridnestrovian side highlighted a concrete workable initiative that can help restore the full functionality of the mechanism in the coming months.

Vitaly Ignatiev and Oleg Serebrian held a meeting in the OSCE Mission office in Tiraspol in the presence of representatives of the mediators and observers.

The key focus of the meeting was on the amendments to the Criminal Code adopted by the Moldovan Parliament, which introduce penalties under such articles as “separatism”, “conspiracy against Moldova” and others.

The PMR President is meeting with the OSCE delegation led by Bujar Osmani, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, chairing this year’s Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In addition to the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the group of foreign visitors to Pridnestrovie included Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting and other European diplomats.

PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Rozenberg, Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov and Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh Akhsar Dzhioev and Sergey Gazaryan attended the event.
