Today, the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova Stella Avallone.

Welcoming the Austrian diplomat, Vitaly Ignatiev noted the good experience of interaction with Austria in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, including the Austrian OSCE Chairmanship in 2017.

The PMR's Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Vitaly Yankovsky, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the PMR.

During the conversation, the diplomats substantively addressed the promising areas of work as part of Pridnestrovie-South Ossetia bilateral cooperation development. In particular, implementation of specific activities in line with the inter-ministerial interaction in the second half of this year was discussed.

A regular meeting of expert (working) groups on education from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova was held today in a videoconference format.

The parties discussed the progress in implementing the protocol decisions in the field of education, signed in November 2017, noting the overall positive dynamics in this area. At the same time, the Moldovan side's attention was drawn to a number of remaining difficulties in using apostilled diplomas abroad.

After a two-month pause, on June 11, took place a videoconference format meeting of Expert (Working) Groups on Transport from Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

The main discussion’s issue was the VRO’s activities blocking by the Moldovan side. Problems within offices operation arose as a result of Moldovan side’s unilateral and uncoordinated increase of tariffs for services from June 1, 2021.

Today, the Pridnestrovian side initiated a video format meeting of Expert (Working) Groups on customs interaction.

During the meeting, the sides discussed aspects related to the implementation of international transit of goods through the territories of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. The experts outlined approaches that, in their opinion, could become the basis for the draft of the corresponding protocol decision, and expressed their readiness to continue work to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.

On June 8, this year's first meeting of Expert (Working) Groups on Medicines Import was held in a videoconference mode.

During the meeting, parties exchanged views on the parameters for maintaining state registers of medical products admitted to circulation on the markets of the parties, as well as on the current rules for the import of such products.

The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Anna Lieberg.

Welcoming the guest, the Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the efforts of the Swedish OSCE Chairmanship in terms of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations settlement. “We share the priorities set by the Chairmanship, including human rights issues because the entire negotiation process is devoted to issues that are directly related to human rights,” the diplomat said.

During the visit to the capital of the Russian Federation, the Pridnestrovian delegation which consisted of Assistant to the President of the PMR Vitaly Bondar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk and Vice-Rector for Economic Activity and Strategic Development of the Pridnestrovian State University named after I. T.G. Shevchenko Vladislav Sokolov held a working meeting at the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev had a video format conversation with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Klaus Neukirch.

During the conversation, diplomats discussed in detail the current situation in the negotiation process, taking into account the negative tendencies and situation aggravation in the relations between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.

On April 21, representatives on political issues from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova held a personal meeting.

In a working discussion, interlocutors touched upon practical means aimed at decreasing the tension within the negotiation process and considered taking specific steps in people’s interest that could be of reciprocal benefit for relations between the sides.

The head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry expressed condolences over the death of Prince Philip and gratitude to the British side for the humanitarian assistance provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A videoconference discussion of parties’ authorized experts on phytosanitary and veterinary took place today.

The dialogue was about importing to Pridnestrovie seeds and planting material, veterinary drugs and plant protection products, primarily through the Kuchurgany – Pervomaisk checkpoint. Pridnestrovian representatives drew attention to the inadmissibility of unreasonable bureaucratic obstacles for pesticide cargo that took place in March current year.
