On April 29, 2011, Vladimir Yastrebchak, on the instructions of PMR's President Igor Smirnov, participated in the session of the Supreme Soviet Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations.

At request of the deputies, the head of the Pridnestrovien diplomacy presented information about the current situation around the Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations normalisation process and prospects of the work in various formats.

In response to numerous questions of the MPs, the head of the PMR's MFA stressed the importance of maintaining a wide range of contacts with all interested international partners. At the same time, according to the diplomat, “extremely important is a differentiated approach towards this meeting or another and proposed activities with regard to Pridnestrovie's interests as well as compliance with provisions of the Pridnestrovien legislation.” “The kind of a situation is developing when international partners are in no less degree interested in fostering contacts with Pridnestrovie than Pridnestrovie itself. This gives the Pridnestrovien side ample space for protecting its interests,” said the Minister.

In the course of the session, an agreement was reached on maintaining interaction between Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR and Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the Supreme Soviet of the PMR within the limits as provided by PMR's legislation.
