Deputy Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie Alexander Stetsyuk met with Roman Shpak who is responsible for political issues in Europe and Central Asia at the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. The meeting was also attended by John Lewis, Peace and Development Advisor, RCO in Moldova.
Welcoming the guests, Alexander Stetsyuk flagged that strengthening and expanding cooperation with the UN is an important area of the Pridnestrovian foreign policy, and expressed hope for the development of new forms and areas of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, the existing challenges and prospects for resolving problematic issues, as well as the protection of the rights of Pridnestrovian residents by the internationally available UN tools.
In concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain contacts on issues of mutual interest.
