The PMR Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch.
Following the dialogue held in the Foreign Ministry of the PMR on September 10 at the meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE CiO Franco Frattini, the parties continued to discuss relevant aspects of the negotiation agenda between the PMR and the Republic of Moldova. They particularly focused on the need to ensure effective and stable operation of the mechanism of participation of Pridnestrovian vehicles in international road traffic.
In the context of the discussion, Vitaly Ignatiev also drew attention of the Head of the Mission to other issues under discussion between the parties at the current stage. In particular, the diplomats exchanged views on implementation of previously reached agreements in the field of telecommunications and politically motivated criminal cases. In addition, the PMR Foreign Minister informed about the continuing problem concerning import of fuel and oil products to the PMR along the northern branch of the railway.
In his turn, Claus Neukirch expressed his readiness to provide assistance in promoting pragmatic dialogue at the negotiation table. “The OSCE is ready to continue assisting the parties in finding mutually beneficial pragmatic solutions. It is our common interest to maintain the success that was achieved in implementation of the road transport agreement”, the diplomat said.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue constant communication on the whole range of relevant issues.
