On November 9-10, a review conference was held in the German town Garmisch-Partenkirchen devoted to confidence- and security-building measures in Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement. Political representatives of Moldova and Pridnestrovie, heads of expert/ working groups of the sides, representatives of the Joint Control Commission, as well as delegations of guarantor countries, mediators and observers took part in the forum. The conference has become the second event of a similar level this year, with the first forum in such a broad format having taken place in September in Chisinau and Tiraspol.
At the conference issues of interaction in the socio-economic sphere, in the sphere of ecology, transport communication and law enforcement were discussed. The participants of the forum summed up the work of expert/ working groups of Moldova and Pridnestrovie in 2010, and also defined dimensions of their further work.
The given conference made it possible for the sides to frankly discuss downsides experts are confronted with in their day-to-day activity and to listen to their proposals as to what should be done to make this activity acquire system-based interdepartmental character. These efforts may include systematization of the work of interdepartmental groups carried out by each side through creating corresponding regulations.
