Today, at the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Karen Mirzoyan.
The PMR Foreign Minister said that Pridnestrovie has been concerned by the information on serious aggravation of the situation in the contact zone between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and the NKR. The head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy expressed compassion and support to the people of Artsakh in connection with the escalation of tension on the part of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“Our peoples are bound by strong, time-honoured friendship. Pridnestrovie is ready to support Nagorno-Karabakh in this difficult time,” said Vitaly Ignatiev.
Karen Mirzoyan, in his turn, thanked the head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy for the warm words and noted that the conflict situation is not fully resolved at present. According to the NKR Foreign Minister, the Republic of Azerbaijan is continuing to conduct provocations on the border, but the situation is under full control of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army.
“The Karabakh side will make every effort to de-escalate the conflict and to settle the situation,” said Karen Mirzoyan.
Vitaly Ignatiev assured the interlocutor of Pridnestrovie’s readiness, if necessary, to provide the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic with any humanitarian, political and diplomatic assistance, and expressed hope that the conflict will be settled through peaceful political dialogue, and the ceasefire regime will soon be renewed.
