The small hall of the Dvorets Respubliki in Tiraspol hosted the session of the expanded Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry Collegium during which three publications having seen the light of day in 2016 were presented. They were: information analytical journal of the MFA of the PMR “Diplomatic bulletin of Pridnestrovie” No.14, collection of articles “Eurasian Pridnestrovie. 2014-2015”, and specialized information analytical publication “Instruments to put pressure on Pridnestrovie in Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement: politically motivated criminal presecution of Pridnestrovian citizens by Moldova”. The books were presented by Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Igor Shornikov during his report.
In his speech Igor Shornikov detailed the policy of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie in the sphere of information, image and public diplomacy. The diplomat has noted that Pridnestrovie and Russia have huge potential in cultural and humanitarian, information and image areas, in the field of public diplomacy. It helps to increase the intensity of bilateral links. “The image of Pridnestrovie as a part of the Russian world, the presence of Pridnestrovian theme in the Russian media scene and the existence of an array of social, political, scientific and cultural ties between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation are a key element for safety of our state. Russia does not leave anyone behind”, said the deputy minister.
Presenting the information analytical publication “Instruments to put pressure on Pridnestrovie in Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement: politically motivated criminal presecution of Pridnestrovian citizens by Moldova” the diplomat highlighted that it includes a full analysis of longstanding problem. “The book is based on materials, prepared at different times by officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on statements and comments of the MFA of the PMR, and also on public opinions and on assessments of the problem by foreign diplomats and scientific expert community”, said the deputy minister. Diplomat expressed confidence that arguments, presented in the book, would make an important contribution to the problem resolution.
“The information analytic journal “Diplomatic bulletin of Pridnestrovie” is a periodic publication of the Foreign Ministry that is well-known both in republic and abroad”, said Igor Shornikov. He stressed that this journal is intended for foreign diplomats, representatives of expert community, and all those who are interested in Pridnestrovian problematics. “The almanac is sent to leading libraries and universities of the Russian Federation and, as we know, it is in request among researchers. This publication allows to trace the main trends and the development of foreign policy course of our republic. “The 2015 was not easy, that is why the title of this issue is “In the grip of foreign pressure: strength test”, said the deputy minister.
Igor Shornikov noted that the latest issue of collection of articles “Eurasian Pridnestrovie” contains expert materials, interviews and publicistic articles devoted to the aspects of Eurasian integration of Pridnestrovie in the context of politic, economic and humanitarian realities of the present day. “The authors of collection are the expert community representatives of Pridnestrovie, Russia, Moldova and Ukraine. It is important for us that there are quite a lot of young native analytics among the authors of media centre, who think and write in Pridnestrovian, if I may say so. These young people are undoubtedly a future elite of our society”, stated the diplomat.
Igor Shornikov accented the publications would become the first, but not the last in 2016. “According to preliminary estimates we are planning to publish up to 10 books”, he said.
In his report the deputy minister also touched upon a theme of international activities held both in Pridnestrovie and abroad.
In conclusion Igor Shornikov emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to develop public diplomacy and to promote the positive image of our republic.
