President Yevgeny Shevchuk received Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Director of the state unitary enterprise “Pridnestrovian Railway” Oleg Kulbikov. The meeting focused on issues related to the change in the scheme of movement of goods imported to Pridnestrovie by railway.
We remind that the scheme of movement of goods imported into Pridnestrovie by railway has been changed since January 1, 2016 by the decision of the Ukrainian and Moldovan sides. Moldova and Ukraine’s representatives of the railways signed the corresponding protocol agreement in early December 2015.
During the meeting they talked about the risks and challenges in the process of delivery of Pridnestrovian goods. The meeting also discussed options of possible losses that the Pridnestrovian railway and the economic agents of the republic will suffer in 2016. “Recently, the Moldovan side systematically refuses the normal dialogue at the level of expert working groups, in spite of the initiatives of Pridnestrovie on the need for optimal scheme of participation of the Pridnestrovian railway in the delivery of goods to the territory of Pridnestrovie,” - said the acting foreign minister. Vitaly Ignatiev said that the Pridnestrovian side hopes to actualize the issue both at the level of expert working groups, and at the level of meetings of political representatives in the near future.
