It was said by Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR in the interview to the Russia 24 TV Channel
The diplomat said that over the past two years of the Swiss-Serbian chairmanship of the OSCE the negotiation process on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement degraded in many ways.
“The last meeting in the format “5+2” took place in the summer of 2014. During that period a lot of problems accumulated connected with the unilateral pressure on Pridnestrovie in a wide range of areas - from the economy to the issues of ensuring the interests of people and initiating criminal cases in Moldova, including against participants in the negotiations, heads of some expert (working) groups, and even the Prime Minister of Pridnestrovie. All of this destroys the fabric of the negotiation process, and it is natural that in such conditions it is impossible to conduct the dialogue,” - said the Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie.
Vitaly Ignatiev also stressed that none of the negotiating parties may not predetermine a final settlement format. In this context, according to the diplomat, this kind of declarations does not bring the parties closer to a final settlement. “The Declaration was adopted outside the framework of international settlement format in which participants, rules and procedures are clearly defined. And only under this format we have the opportunity to work out a formula for a final settlement,” - said the head of the Foreign Ministry of the PMR.
