On June 2, 2015 Moscow hosted an International Conference on Life under sanctions: international experience. The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the CIS Institute.
The conference was attended by CIS Countries Institute Director Konstantin Zatulin, Head of the Chair of World Economy of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Vasily Kolesov, Director of the Institute of globalization problems Mikhail Delyagin, experts from Russia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany. Pridnestrovie was presented by Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Activity, PMR’s MFA Dmitry Kambur who gave their reports on the challenges of regional security in the context of external pressure on Pridnestrovie and on the functioning of the economy of Pridnestrovie under blockade.
In their speeches, the Pridnestrovian diplomats identified the main security and socio-economic stability threats which are faced by Pridnestrovie and they presented a series of recommendations to neutralize them.
A welcoming address to the participants of the conference was made by Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexander Brechalov, noting the political nature of the sanctions, their orientation to provoke a confrontation in society and the aggravation of social problems.
