The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration in Moldova Antonio Polosa, visited Pridnestrovie for the first time.
Welcoming the delegation Vitaly Ignatiev said that Pridnestrovie appreciates the intentions of the International Organization for Migration to maintain direct bilateral contacts, to exchange views on the current situation at first hand. “The International Organization for Migration has worked for a considerable time in Pridnestrovie at the level of non-governmental organizations. By combined efforts, we will be able to solve the current issues and challenges in the field of migration at the level of state bodies and local authorities,” - said the deputy minister.
Vitaly Ignatiev said that Pridnestrovie welcomes the expansion of contacts with international organizations on social and humanitarian issues. A number of international organizations operates in the republic, including the WHO, UNDP, UNICEF, and many others. We will be glad to develop cooperation with the International Organization for Migration,”- said the diplomat.
Antonio Polosa thanked, in his turn, for the warm reception and said that the visit to the republic is a good opportunity to continue the work which was begun in Pridnestrovie many years ago. “Our organization in Pridnestrovie focuses mainly on humanitarian and social issues. And we will continue this work, concentrating on the study of migration processes, their trends and dynamics,” - said the Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration.
The sides discussed the parameters of promising cooperation based on the principles of openness, pragmatism and constructive partnership.
