The meeting of President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Kiril Gaburich was held in the capital of Pridnestrovie today. An exchange of views on a number of topical issues of bilateral relations took place.
Yevgeny Shevchuk: “Dear Mr Gaburich, colleagues! I am glad to welcome the delegation of the Republic of Moldova in Pridnestrovie. I would like to note the intense dynamics of contacts between the representatives on political issues, the expert groups. I find it positive that the activation of interaction gives us the first result. This allows to experience some cautious optimism and hope for the development of successful joint work in the future. I express hope that the meetings will be productive in different formats and fields, as well as will help to restore confidence between Pridnestrovie and Moldova”.
Under conditions of economic turbulence, deepening manifestations of the crisis and unpredictability in the whole macro-region the trust between us is very valuable. A good example oriented towards the result and constructive cooperation is the draft Protocol Decision prepared by the experts and political representatives of the parties on auto insurance. This document confirms that with the political will the parties can quickly and efficiently come up with solutions that are useful for the population of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. It is very important that the document that we are going to consider and sign today, will work without stalling. With this view, authorized experts and representatives of the insurance companies of the parties shall to agree on and approve a basic mechanism of cooperation between insurance entities of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, obligatory for all, before May 10.
The Pridnestrovian side is ready for substantive cooperation and hopes that today's meeting and the signing of the document will be the positive impetus that will allow to come close to a speedy resolution of other problems as well. The Pridnestrovian side believes that also the issues on removing obstacles to carry out foreign economic activity freely, building relationships jointly in an active international trade, addressing and resolving issues on a criminal prosecution of officials and businessmen of Pridnestrovie by the Republic of Moldova, the difficulties faced by different categories of the PMR’s citizens when crossing the Moldovan border could become a common priority in the future. Pridnestrovie would also like to raise before Moldovan partners a number of issues in the field of telecommunications, which was repeatedly stated.
Of course, the Pridnestrvian side is traditionally open to an exchange of views on aspects of interest to the Moldovan side. I look forward to a fruitful and mutually respectful discussion. I wish all of us and our guests, first of all, good luck and all its participants a statemanship approach. Thank you!”
Kiril Gaburich: “First of all, I want to say thank you for the meeting and to note that this example when at the end of May we faced this issue - I do not want to call it a problem, because we have found a solution to it - shows that there is a desire of both parties to find solutions, to work within the framework of a working group to discuss some of the mechanisms of solutions. I am very pleased about it”.
I think that this case should serve as an example for solving a number of other issues that you, Mr. Shevchuk, noted. I am confident that we can find solutions, because there is a desire on our part, there is a desire on your part, there is a desire to do it for the people who work, live, move from one bank of the Dniester River to another.
I hope that today we will be able to discuss other issues, we will find again the understanding and ways of solving. In addition, most importantly, that it was not just on paper, but also really works. Thank you!”
During the meeting President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk and Prime Minister of the RM Kiril Gaburich signed a Protocol Decision “On the mechanism of cooperation of insurance entities of the Republic of Moldova and Pridnestrovie under civil liability insurance contracts”. We remind that the draft of the arrangement was agreed on and initialed by the results of the meetings of expert (working) groups on the development of transport and road facilities and the political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova on 6 and 7 April, 2015.

Thus, car owners from Pridnestrovie can enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova with Pridnestrovian insurance policies and vice versa. When the insured event occurs, regardless of the territory where it has occurred, the payments will be made by the insurance entities the policy of which the owner of vehicles has.
