On March 12, 2010, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic hosted the meeting of the Ministry's leadership with the Council of Europe Delegation headed by Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Ms. Birute Abraitiene.
The Pridnestrovien side was represented by PMR's Foreign Minister Vladimir Yastrebchak and PMR's Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Simonenko. During the course of the meeting issues and directions of interaction between Moldova and Transdniestria were considered. Evolvement of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol was defined by Ms. Birute Abraitiene as the major goal of the work.
In Ms. Birute Abraitiene's words, the Council of Europe is ready to foster cooperation in the sphere of education, mass media and between representatives of the civil society of Moldova and Transdniestria. The corresponding initiatives will be examined by relevant institutions of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic.
The sides expressed their hope for further cooperation.
