Today, an opening of the third Swedish Film Festival organized by the Embassy of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova was held at the Tiraspol Cinema in the capital of Pridnestrovie. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski, Chairperson of the Supreme Soviet of the PMR Mikhail Burla, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova Ingrid Tersman, as well as representatives of state authorities and the public of the country.
During the opening ceremony Ingrid Tersman welcomed the audience. “We hold a festival of Swedish films for the third time in Tiraspol, and this time there is also a film from Finland. All films are united by a general theme, in addition, we have tried to collect the best films of our directors, released in 2012-2014,” - she said.
The first film shown at the festival was the comedy by Felix Herngren “The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared”. “During our previous festivals we brought mostly drama and documentaries, and I am very happy that this year we are opening the festival by a comedy. This film is full of interesting moments, this film is about us,” – stressed Ingrid Tersman
The Swedish Film Festival in Pridnestrovie will last until March 22. Information about films planned to be shown and the schedule is published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR.
