Today, the PMR's MFA hosted a meeting between the Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Shornikov and the representatives of the non-governmental organizations of Serbia. The Serbian delegation included Founder of the organization “Serbian Code” Mladjan Djordjevic, Director of the organization “Naša Srbija”(Our Serbia) Mina Milicevic, and the representative of the organization “Naša Srbija” Nikola Kosovic.
In the course of the meeting the participants substantively discussed the implementation of the initiative by the “Naša Srbija” relating to vacation of the Pridnestrovie's children at summer camp in Serbia. It was agreed during the previous meeting between the representatives of the organization and Deputy Chaiperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski held with support from the Russian Institute of Strategic Research on March 11 a.c.
During the meeting Mladjan Djordjevic expressed support for Pridnestrovian people faced with a complex situation due to regional events. “We have been for the second time in Tiraspol for a short period of time. There have been many events during this period, as well as in your neighbourhoods. The information about Pridnetrovie has been already circulated in Serbian mass media as well, and the Serbian patriots that I represent now, are concerned about Pridnestrovie. We are pleased about the D.O. Rogozin's visit to the PMR and we believe that Russia have information about the current situation and will be able to protect you. The life should go on in spite of everything, and we, in our turn, will welcome the Pridnestorvian children and will be hospitable,” – he stated.
In his turn, Igor Shornikov highly appreciated the initiative of the Serbian social activists and expressed hope that its implementation would become a stimulus for stepping up collaboration between Serbia and Pridnestrovie. “The Serbian people are brotherly for the Pridnestrovian ones, we are close in terms of history, culture, but, unfortunately, we have had no direct bilateral ties for a long time. In this regard, we are grateful to you and to the Russian Institute of Strategic Research for giving us the opportunity to establish direct contact in the context of social line,”- emphasized the Diplomat.
