The head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Service Nina Shtanski answered the questions from the independent German journalist Oliver Bilger.
The western media's representative was interested in a wide range of issues relating to the topical socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie, as well as the prospects for relations with the Republic of Moldova within the context of Association Agreement planned to be signed with the European Union. Nina Shtanski voiced the opinion of the experts believing that the EU trade regime brought risks for Pridnestrovie regardless of whether the republic would participate in any form in it or not.
The Minister has again reminded the journalist that the foreign policy course of the republic is the Eurasian one, and the main strategic partner of Pridnestrovie is Russia. At the same time, she has informed that the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is open to cooperating with the EU, however, the introduction of the new trade regime between the RM and EU before the settlement of the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova may negatively affect the further course of bilateral dialogue.
The journalist also showed his interest to the issues on the status of the republic and the situation at the border between the PMR and Ukraine.
