The Diplomat noted that Russia's decision on the accession of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation was made with economic, legal, political and diplomatic, strategic, and information integrity. The Minister noted that the arguments which had been setting out when Crimea reunited with the Russian Federation “correlate with those arguments which Pridnestrovie appeals to”. “These are historical and legal backgrounds, people's right to self-determination which is an integral part of international legal system, modern international legal precedents. Pridnestrovie exercises full control over its territory, the State fulfills its obligations towards the population. Pridnestrovie is an established state,”- she emphasized. The Head of the Foreign Ministry also noted that Pridnestrovie fully shares aspirations of the Crimean people. “The independence of Pridnestrovie is recognized by its people. People living here consider themselves as a part of the Russian World and wish to reunite with it. We have been consistently implementing this course since 2006, when it was determined by the people of Pridnestrovie through a referendum,”- said the Diplomat.
Nina Shtanski also reminded that six referenda had been already held in Pridnestrovie since its formation and in full accordance with people's will, Eurasian integration was determined as a foreign policy course of Pridnestrovie. “We harmonize our legislation with the Russian one, the Parliament is examining the President's initiative on extension of the Russian legislation to Pridnestrovie, and we hold consultations with the authorities of the Russian Federation on direct cooperation. We count that our actions will move us closer towards the main goal, namely, the reunification with the Russian Federation,” – emphasized the Minister.
