According to the director of the RISS Leonid Reshetnikov, if Crimea votes for reunification with Russia, the Pridnestrovian issue will be actualized.
“Therefore I think Russia should recognize Pridnestrovie after Crimea and propose to hold another referendum on the reunification with Russia. This is the only way we can protect Pridnestrovie.Yes, we will recognize Pridnestrovie, and as an autonomous republic it will be able to associate with Russia and become part of it. After that we are ready to protect and must protect it as our territory. There is no other way out of it. Otherwise, we will lose Pridnestrovie,” he stated.
