Today, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova Paola Albornoz. Ms Albornoz was accompanied by Mеnstrеle Dahlstrom, Second Secretary of the Embassy responsible for social services. According to Paola Albornoz, this is her first visit to Pridnestrovie during which the diplomat plans to familiarize herself with the situation in the country and to form basic parameters of further bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in cultural and socio-humanitarian spheres. In particular, they confirmed their interest in realization of a number of socially significant projects by joint efforts. The Swedish side also expressed interest in developing tourism industry in Pridnestrovie.
Vitaly Ignatiev told about general foreign policy and foreign economic benchmarks of Pridnestrovie; he also outlined its main priorities in relations with international partners. Special attention was paid to the current problems of interaction between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed their willingness to further constructive cooperation and agreed to continue dialogue on a meaningful basis in the near future.
During the visit, delegation of the Swedish Embassy in Pridnestrovie is also scheduled to meet with the leadership of the Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko to discuss practical parameters of cooperation in the field of education.
