Today a round-table conference International Collaboration in Culture as a Mode of Public Diplomacy and Cultural Dialogue took place in Tiraspol in the Palace of Republic. The event was held as part of international outreach-cultural project Though Culture to Peace and Concord of Nation guided by International Association of Culture and Art Workers MARCIS in collaboration with Peace and Concord Federation and Moscow Institute of Entrepreneurship and Justice.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Igor Shornikov, Head of the Representation of the Russian federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Moldova Valentin Rybnitskiy, President of MARCIS, honored worker of culture of the PMR, Galina Galagan and representatives of social organizations took part in the event which continued series of arrangements aimed at drawing public attention to necessity of prevention of war conflicts and at popularization of values and standards of civil society.
Pridnestrovian diplomat Igor Shornikov delivered an opening speech to participants and facilitators. “Pridnestrovie chose the way of Eurasian integration, and public diplomacy is the necessary condition for achievement of our foreign-policy objectives. We believe that social efforts will help us to outtalk about our republic, to get message across to participants of international processes, and thus current event is very important for us. Thank You for the important task You are doing”, he said.
In his turn, Head of the Representation of the Russian federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Moldova Valentin Rybnitskiy voiced the greeting from Vice Director of Rossotrudnichestvo. Particularly, it was said, “The topic of this event is very important and urgent. New world gives us new challenges. History always reminds us about responsibility for future of the state, society and every citizen. I believe that this event will become the important element of efforts aimed at protecting the oncoming generation, its upbringing in the spirit of best values”.
In the course of the event speeches were delivered by workers of culture, representatives of social unions and creative associations of Pridnestrovie. The participants of the event pointed out that in order to avoid tragic reoccurrence of some pages of history it is especially important to keep and develop cultural identity in harmony and concord with other nations. By general repute of participants of round-table conference, this is exactly the point which is necessary to maintain peace between states and nations.
