Those participating in the event were also representatives from Russia, Nagorno-Karabakh, South Ossetia, Pridnestrovie, and other countries. The meeting noted that 20 years ago deputies of the parliament took up the role of people's diplomats in difficult circumstances - they were the first who had to conduct negotiations with Georgia.
Deputy Chairperson of the Government for International Cooperation of the PMR, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski congratulated the Foreign Service of Abkhazia on anniversary. She pays an official visit to the fraternal republic as the head of the Government delegation. In her speech, the Head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy noted, “Long distance that separates our countries geographically, does not affect the established good relations between us. We are well aware why our republics have earned a level of development they have achieved to date.” Having emphasized the high professionalism of the Abkhaz diplomacy, she stressed that long before the recognition of the republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia effectively gained international friends strengthening its relations with Russia – a major strategic partner of Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia, the guarantor of peace and stability.
“I don't want to tell that independence of Abkhazia was recognized because it did not need recognition. Independence of Abkhazia was determined by the internal sovereignty. This independence was regained by Abkhazian people,” Nina Shtanski concluded.
