On February 21 a.c. patriotic organizations of Pridnestrovie discussed the socio-political situation in the Republic and the prospects of cooperation between public associations and government agencies. According to the participants, it is a long overdue need to bring together efforts of all sound patriotic forces of our state to strengthen the statehood of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The event resulted in signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the organizations and the adoption of the Declaration “For Recognition of Pridnestrovie!”. This Declaration, according to the authors, should encourage civil society to work together while promoting and protecting the Pridnestrovian state. The document was sent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR for information directing words of support to the course implementing by the foreign agency.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR welcomes civic initiatives aimed at consolidating the Pridnestrovian society, maintaining the atmosphere of peace and harmony, and expresses its willingness to interact with civil society in order to implement the guidelines of conceptual foreign policy document.
It should be recalled that according to the Foreign Policy Concept of the PMR, the content of foreign policy activities shall include the protection and promotion of fundamental rights and freedoms of Pridnestrovians as well as the state interests of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Pridnestrovie is seeking to strengthen the independence and sovereignty by both traditional diplomatic means and means of “soft power”, public diplomacy, active involvement of citizens in decision-making process and its implementation.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR also welcomes an idea of the establishment of the Council of Patriotic Organizations which should bind social activists in order to contribute to the international recognition of the Republic.
