A meeting of senior officials of the Foreign Service with the OSCE delegation headed by Andrey Deshchitsa, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. The delegation included – Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova Sergey Pirozhkov and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Jennifer Brush. Pridnestrovie was represented by Nina Shtanski, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR on Issues of International Cooperation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Igor Shornikov. 



In the course of the meeting the parties exchanged their views and opinions on arrangements to the next negotiation round in the format of “Permanent Conference” scheduled for February 18-19 a. c. in Lvov. Interlocutors emphasized constructive character of the initiated dialogue. Participants of the“5+2” format expect the negotiation process to be more effective. “Population of Pridnestrovie and Moldova has also positive expectations,” Nina Shtanski assures. According to her, people already gain from solutions that have been previously taken.        



“There should be no winners or losers in the negotiation process. Each party should gain from negotiations. The issues we haven't managed to settle last year would be hopefully agreed,” the Pridnestrovian diplomat said. Nina Shtanski reminded that they meant social and economic issues included on the discussion agenda. This opinion is shared by Andrey Deshchitsa, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. He stressed the need to find solutions acceptable to all, namely, solutions to particular problems of the population.



Interlocutors agreed on expediency to discuss issues that are common to both sides of the negotiating process. In addition, the representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office expressed interest in strengthening contacts at parliamentary level and at the level of civil society.
