Today consultations of political representatives of Moldova and Pridnestrovie in negotiation process Nina Shtanski and Yevgeny Karpov took place in the Tiraspol office of the OSCE Mission. Representatives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, OSCE and the EU also took part in the meeting.
The sides discussed cooperation of branch experts in fields of economics, banking activity, customs sphere in framework of profile expert (working) groups of Pridnestrovie and of Moldova and certain issues concerning freedom of movement of persons and cargos.
Earlier Pridnestrovian side brought up an issue of the necessity of fastest possible resolution of existing problems in banking sphere. In this connection Tiraspol expressed worry with the fact that during the last meeting of expert (working) groups on economic issues which took place on October 12 the subgroup to resolve issues in banking sphere was not created. After the meeting Nina Shtanski informed journalists that during the today's session all contradictions have been overcome and participants agreed upon creation of this subgroup which is to start work in nearest future.
Touching upon the issues of economic nature, which have been discussed today, Nina Shtanski noted that Pridnestrovian side received confirmation from Moldovan colleagues about inclusion of Pridnestrovian representatives into Intergovernmental Russian-Moldovan Commission in the role of independent observers. “I hope this is a good news for business circles of Pridnestrovie and Moldova and for our Russian partners”, – said the Head of the PMR's MFA in the interview given to the journalists.
During the meeting Nina Shtanski also brought up an issue about false information about unconscionability of Pridnestrovian banks spread by the Moldova's mass media. According to her, such statements create negative background which impedes constructive dialogue between the sides. It should be reminded that deputy director's of Moldova's SIS groundless claims have been made on the eve of the meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova which took place on October 12.
Pridnestrovian side demanded explanations from the relevant agencies of Moldova but during the meeting Moldovan side appeared to be unprepared to deliver this information. Nina Shtanski informed that if the data would not be presented, than expert group on law enforcement will study the situation. “If no data exchange take place than, I think, political reactions will be a bit different”, – Pridnestrovian diplomat said.
Discussion of issues connected to resolving problems in sphere of international passenger and freight transportation by Pridnestrovian transport companies became separate topic of the meeting. Once again Pridnestrovian side expressed necessity of issuance of permits to Pridnestrovian transport operators. During the meeting Nina Shtanski critically estimated the results of work of expert group on automobile and railroad transportation.
In parallel Pridnestrovian side presented project of new design of number plates for Pridnestrovian vehicles operating in sphere of international transportation during the meeting.
While evaluating the results of the meeting by journalists' request political representatives of Pridnestrovie and of Moldova expressed their satisfaction with the dialogue and appraised it as “productive and constructive” one.
