Today foreign office of Pridnestrovie hosted the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Netherlands headed by Chief of the European Department of the MFA of the Kingdom of Netherlands Ambassador Jaap Werner. Participating in the meeting were also Special Representative for the Eastern Partnership of the MFA of the Kingdom of Netherlands Klaas van der Tempel and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine Pieter Jan Wolthers.
The diplomats exchanged views on the course of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev told representatives of the delegation of the MFA of the Kingdom of Netherlands about most pressing issues of the negotiation agenda. He told that Pridnestrovie works for achievement of practical results in socio-economic sphere. In particular, this includes freedom of movement, full-scale passenger railway link, freight traffic and education. The Pridnestrovian side is especially interested in removing barriers impeding the conduct of foreign economic activity and banking interaction.
In the course of the meeting the guests raised the issue of the current state of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. Vitaly Ignatiev explained that joint trilateral peacekeeping operation – especially in the light of a number of incidents in the Security Zone – today is still topical. It is a solid platform for carrying out political dialogue between Moldova and Pridnestrovie, a strong guarantee of peace and stability. Indisputable positive results of 20-years' existence are indicative of that.
