- Russia is taking Pridnestrovie and Pridnestrovians as compatriots – and this is the most important fact. Russian peacekeeping mission is carrying out an important geopolitical function, it is implementing function of guaranteeing peace and security on this land, but also Russia is defending its compatriots who passed through number of very serious challenges.
Today they understand very well in Russia that here, in Pridnestrovie, in the beginning of 1990s, such values were secured which at that time were fogrgotten in Russia itself. We remember that bacchanalia which took place around Russian history, Russian faith, Russian principles and historical values which Russian society had to pass in 1990s. Here, on Pridnestrovian land, people defended values which seemed to be defied and violated everywhere else because everywhere else on the post-Soviet space aggressive ethnic nationalism started to grow in strength. And, actually, people here confronted with this challenge and this danger. By sacrificing their lives they defended values which now, finally, are gradually strengthening in Russia and people are starting to realize their importance. This is why Russia, of course, did all it could in order to support Pridnestrovie. And Russian society is appreciating great choice Pridnestrovians have made.
Considering this, we are speaking that Pridnestrovie – is a small Russia. There is great meaning in these words which are clearly understood by the larger part of modern Russian society.
