Vitaly Ignatiev on Public Diplomacy Project: “It is necessary to search for mechanisms and to participate in Eurasian integration processes”

Historical, civilization, cultural and ideological bases of Pridnestrovie are undoubtedly oriented on eastern vector. Here I find it appropriate to remind about the processes of formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. In 1990s, when it was the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic which stood as one of the islets of partitioning Soviet Union and declared its desire for integration and unity. Modern international space, modern tendencies, including global tendencies in spheres of finances and economics are testifying that there is no alternative to the unification, there is no alternative to strengthening and developing comprehensive ties in different spheres. And, of course, Pridnestrovie is part of world, part of international relations. Of course, Pridnestrovie is trying to find its place in complex changing world. And here it is necessary to point out that Pridnestrovie always felt and implemented indissoluble connection with eastern vector, with the Russian Federation. The second logical step is to search for mechanisms and ways to include Pridnestrovie in Eurasian integration processes which are taking place nowadays.

I would like to point out also that under current circumstances search for these processes and that finding possibilities to attract support of Russian specialists, scientific and expert bodies by efforts of all our branches of our government, civil society, scientific society, experts – is the major strategic task of the foreign-political agency of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It is now, when institutional bases of work and formation of future Eurasian mechanisms are taking place.

Undoubtedly, Pridnestrovie should strive for search or even for action in implementation of these processes because Pridnestrovie from the very beginning has many elements, traits which make us integral part of the Eurasian Union. Generally speaking, we are already willing part of Eurasian Union with interethnic peace and consent, with shared understanding of goals and values. We are part of Russian-cultured, multilingual society and, of course, I think, that our experience, Pridnestrovian experience, our format of government and society is popular and interesting for global actors, for those processes which are taking place in the CIS space. That is why I believe that modern stage is very topical. It is very important not to let it pass by. It is important to participate in this most serious, most deep, most difficult work. I think that this goal belongs not just to foreign-political agency. It is the goal of the state and society in the whole.
