On May 25, 2012, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting with head of the foreign political office Nina Shtanski with UN Senior Adviser on human rights in Pridnestrovie Thomas Hammarberg. Participating in the meeting was also Adviser of United Nations Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights Claude Cahn.
Thomas Hammarberg marked that he had arrived in Pridnestrovie to assess the level of human rights protection in the Republic. Nina Shtanski expressed readiness to render any assistance to UN expert and support in his work.
Upon the request of the UN representative, Nina Shtanski told about socio-political processes taking place in the Republic and around it, and also about several aspects of the negotiation process.
Thomas Hammarberg will stay in Pridnestrovie for five days. Following the result of his work he will prepare report for United Nations.
