Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic welcomes the achievement of compromise decision during extraordinary sitting of Joint Control Commission on February 16, 2012.
The transition of Joint Control Commission to the normal and planned activity mode after almost four month of extraordinary field sittings is the result of long-term hard work of the participants of Commission and reflects common understanding of necessity of mutually coordinated activity for safeguarding of peace and security.
We think that the development of the dynamics of constructive interaction of the sides on the basis of observance of legal positions, principles and mechanisms of activity of Joint Control Commission will create necessary conditions for consistent efficient solving of problematic issues in Security Zone.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR shares the position of Joint Control Commission, fixed in decision dated February 16, 2012, concerning inadmissibility of holding of mourning or other kinds of events on the threshold of the date of the 20th anniversary of the conflict, which may lead to complication of the situation in Security Zone.
In this connection the PMR's MFA expresses hope that the Moldovan side will proceed from the same understanding, avoiding unilateral actions first of all in connection with mass memorial events, planned for March 2, 2012. We are convinced that only real actions aimed to remove the tension, to preserve peace and stability, are able to confirm official declarations on readiness to compromises, including those in the context of activity of international format of political consultations of Moldova and Pridnestrovie.
On its' part the PMR's MFA once again confirms adherence to democratic principles of equal dialogue and expresses readiness for comprehensive fortification and expansion of space of constructive interaction for the purpose of normalization of Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations for the benefit of our citizens.
