Problem of resumption of railway communication through the territory of Pridnestrovie was discussed during the meeting of the PMR's President Yevgeny Shevchuk and the head of government of Moldova Vladimir Filat on January 27, 2012, in Odessa. The sides came to an agreement about the resumption of activity of corresponding expert and working groups of Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
As of today, there was only one meeting, when representatives of the sides did not exchange any drafts of agreements or certain proposals.
However, the number of representatives of bodies of power of Moldova makes reports to mass media, which may be considered to be an advancement of certain preconditions to Pridnestrovie, in some cases even an ultimatum. Present reports which concern the problems of railway and motor transport communication, do not promote creation of the atmosphere of confidence between the sides, narrow the possibilities for constructive dialoguing by Tiraspol and Kishinev.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR expresses hope, that actions of responsible persons from Moldavian bodies of power will aim at creation of favorable conditions for interaction of expert and working groups of the sides. Welfare of not only of a certain Moldavian and Pridnestrovien economical agents but of the residents of the two states depends on the success in achievement of compromise.
We also consider, that actions of a certain officials of the RM can not go beyond their competence and must correspond to the course, realized by top leadership of the country, in order to promote elaboration of bilateral concerted decisions.
Tiraspol is thankful to our international partners for their long-term efforts directed on oficialization of activity of Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process in 5+2 format. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR considers, that in the context of future meeting in Dublin, intermediaries, guarantor states and observers are also interested in preservation of positive mood of the sides of the settlement.
