On November 13, 2011, Pridnestrovie's delegation participated in monitoring of the South Ossetian Presidential Elections and Referendum on granting Russian official language status. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Central Election Committee of the PMR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Supreme Soviet.
International observers of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic started process of monitoring with observation of the polling station № 5 opening procedure in Tskhinval which was held in accordance with the Constitution and Legislation of the RSO on Presidential Elections of South Ossetia.
On the whole, during the election day, representatives of Pridnestrovie visited more than 10 polling stations in Tskhinval and Tskhinval region, and held two press-conferences where they noted that South Ossetian Presidential Elections and Referendum were carried out openly, in compliance with the principles of international election standards and Electoral Legislation of South Ossetia, thus ensuring freedom of expression to the citizens.
