President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Farit Mukhametshin. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the PMR for International Cooperation - Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski.
During the meeting the sides discussed the current socio-economic situation in the country in conditions of the restrictions artificially created by neighbouring countries. In addition, they talked about the directions of further cooperation to provide in the current difficult situation additional support to Russian citizens residing in Pridnestrovie, and compatriotes. “We have outlined certain directions in order to mitigate the effect of additional economic restrictions”, said the President of the PMR.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation in Pridnestrovie of the Russian humanitarian project of the NGO “Eurasian integration” for the construction of a number of social facilities. “Thanks to this project, in particular, we have been able to defuse the situation with queues for pre-school activities. A major contribution with respect to capital investments has been made in health care. We have not had such amount of investments in this industry for all 25 years - said Yevgeny Shevchuk. - This is a positive revolution of the health care area with direct support from non-governmental organization and officials of Russia”.
“I'll be glad if this year we will complete the main facilities and by the end - the beginning of next year we will be able to put them in commission. Perhaps, more other projects of social importance will come about”, said Farit Mukhametshin.
In addition, the meeting discussed the implementation of the joint Russian-Pridnestrovian project aimed at providing schools of the republic with sets of textbooks. “Textbooks are printed for each school in sufficient quantity so that teachers and students have textbooks of the standards of Russian education”, said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova.
During the dialogue, the sides also discussed a number of topical issues relating to consular services.
According to the results of the meeting Farit Mukhametshin noted that regular meetings with the President of Pridnestrovie “give concrete opportunities to be informed, to jointly devise activities for the future”.
President Yevgeny Shevchuk conveyed the words of gratitude to the leadership of the Russian Federation for the support provided to the people of Pridnestrovie.
