Vitaly Ignatiev meets with member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Olga Timofeyeva

The meeting of Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Olga Timofeeva was held in Moscow.

The head of the foreign ministry in detail informed the senator, representing the city of Sevastopol in the Federation Council, on the current situation in and around the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. At the meeting Vitaly Ignatiev made a special emphasis on the nature and extent of the negative impact of external factors on the socio-economic situation in the republic.

The parties discussed in detail the directions and potential for intensification of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation in public information and humanitarian spheres. The two sides agreed on the need to use all available practical mechanisms to protect the rights and interests of compatriots residing in Pridnestrovie. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev handed Olga Timofeyeva the edition of PMR's MFA “Instruments to put pressure on Pridnestrovie in Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement: a politically motivated prosecution of Pridnestrovian citizens by Moldova”, dedicated to one of the most sensitive aspects of the infringement of the rights of the citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic by the Republic of Moldova.

The dialogue discussed a number of other topical areas of bilateral cooperation, including in trade and economic sphere. In particular, Olga Timofeyeva expressed readiness of the Federation Council to assist in the organization of IV Pridnestrovian Investment Forum at high level, scheduled for May of this year.
